| Karina nació en Miami de padre cubano y
madre costarricense. Cuando cursaba secundaria, pensando estudiar música
(por el don de tocar el clarinete que ha recibido), comenzó a sentir que
Dios la llamaba a algo más. Fue al retiro Encuentros Juveniles y ayudó en el
ministerio universitario en FIU. Después de un tiempo de discernimiento,
entró ala congregación en septiembre del año 2000.
Lili nació en Michoacán, México, pero vino a Estados Unidos con su familia y todos ellos se establecieron en el área de Los Angeles, California. Allí se comprometió cada vez más con la Iglesia en la parroquia San Gabriel, a cargo de los Padres Claretianos, quienes le fueron transmitiendo el carisma de San Antonio María Claret y despertaron en ella el deseo de entregar su vida al servicio del Evangelio. El rito de la profesión tuvo lugar dentro de la eucaristía. Las hermanas profesaron públicamente los votos de pobreza, obediencia y castidad, según el carisma claretiano. La eucaristía fue presidida por el Obispo Auxiliar de Miami, Agustín Román. También concelebró el Obispo Felipe Estévez y otros 15 sacerdotes de las diócesis de Miami, Palm Beach y San Agustín. La homilía estuvo a cargo del P. José Sánchez, cmf, sacerdote claretiano de la Provincia del Oeste de EEUU, que guió a Lili en su discernimiento. |
Karina was born in Miami, her father is Cuban and her mother from Costa Rica. While attending New World School of the Arts, dreaming of becoming a great clarinet player, she heard God's call. She participated in retreats and later served in campus ministry at Florida International University.After a period of discernment, she entered the claretian community on September of the year 2000. Lili was born in Michoacan, Mexico. She came to the United States with her family and settled in the Los Angeles area. There, she became increasingly committed with youth ministry at San Gabriel Mission, which was run by the Claretian Fathers. They transmitted to her the charism of St. Anthony Mary Claret and awakend in her the desire to give her life in the service of the Gospel. The rite of consecration took place within the eucharistic liturgy. The sisters professed publicly the vows of poverty, obedience, and chastity. The eucharist was presided by Bishop Agustin Roman and was concelebrated by Bishop Felipe Estevez and other 15 priests of the dioceses of Miami, Palm Beach, and St. Augustin. The homily was given by Fr. Jose Sanchez, cmf, a claretian priest of the West Province of USA, who was Lili's mentor in Los Angeles. |
